Personality: Yuri is a thief with a heart of gold.
His mother being a prostitute, Yuri did not have much luck in life. But all that changed when he was saved not just once but twice by a mysterious elderly man. It is what created a compassionate side that he never knew existed for himself. After being adopted by Count Rowe, Yuri did begin turning his life for the better but that quickly changed after a scandal during his time at the monastery. Friends are the most important thing to Yuri. Friends are like family to him no matter who they are and where they come from. This is why, while being a student at the Officer's Academy, he killed his fellow knights when they were tasked with killing a gang that consisted of old friends. This is also seen when he is supposed to assassinate a young Bernadetta later on in life but can't go through with it due to the time they spent together before.
Yuri has natural leadership skills, his tactics being on par with Byleth and Claude's. Yuri is the house leader for the Ashen Wolves and he is quite protective of his pack including everyone is Abyss. His tactics rely more on deceit than anything else. He makes sure his plans go through the way he wants them to, even if it means lying to his own friends for their benefit. During the events of the Cindered Shadows DLC, he does side with Aelfric because of the man's suspicious behavior. While he usually prefers working alone, he will call upon the assistance of others that he believes will help him out during his plans. Yuri is said to be quite good at keeping secrets (mainly his own), things like his name and his past, but will speak them only to those that he trusts.
Yuri is not the complete paragon of morality, though. He often uses crass language and tends to proposition for the sake of getting them on his side. He is willing to kill as long as there is a proper price or if it is necessary. Killing his own friends are a no but killing strangers he has no particular connection to is something that he doesn't mind. He is used to stealing and participating in illegal markets for the sake of the less fortunate. And when he can, Yuri is used to using his charms and appearance the most. He is very much used to manipulating those who are more privileged than him for him to give him what he wants. As seen with his interaction with Byleth during Cindered Shadows, he offers them a date to tell them of his plan. He has a flirtatious side but whether that's because he wants to use somebody or because he is genuinely interested is only a secret he will know.
He does understand how reprehensible most of his actions are and often does think little of himself. He may be told that what he's doing is for the sake of survival and that it's okay but he personally doesn't believe it. It's just something that he will have to live with and hope that no one else comes out like him.

Locktouch: He has a high lockpicking skill and is able to unlock normal chests and doors.
